With a life and career spanning nearly a century, Julius Shulman is credited with furthering the mid-century modernism movement through his flawless photographs of the pioneering architecture of Richard Neutra and Pierre Koenig, among others. While Shulman’s pictures comprise the most published images of the modernist movement this new monograph, JULIUS SHULMAN LOS ANGELES, presents many never-before-seen images on a subject closest to Shulman’s heart: Los Angeles and its environs-including Palm Springs and the San Fernando Valley. He will be in person to discuss and sign copies of the book.

“Out of the Ashes”

The film will precede an interview with the Director of the movie, Joe Sargent. Based on the true life story of Gisella Perl, a Jewish Hungarian doctor who survived Auschwitz, Out of the Ashes follows Perl through an INS investigation as she applies for US citizenship and is accused of colluding with the Nazis.
